A cowboy or cowgirl party lends itself to some great games and activities. It's easy to find western party supplies, such as cowboy hats, lights shaped like cacti, toy six shooters, and of course spurs, can make an ordinary birthday part in to one that will be talked about by all of the kids in school for months to come. By shopping for western party supplies you can quickly become the coolest mom in the world in the eyes of your little cowpoke.

You simply choose your cowboy party theme and any accessories you think you will need and you're done. The whole themed party will be delivered to your door… wooohooo!!
A variety of games that fit well into the western theme is also essential. Games like pin the tail on the donkey … no one ever gets tired of this classic, that is for sure.
A word of caution… If you include squirt guns among your western party supplies, be sure not to give them out right away. It is recommended to have a designated time when people can play with the squirt guns towards the end of the party…. otherwise you could have a stampede on your hands.
Don't forget the importance of music in your western parties supplies. Country and western music is essential. Immortal classics like Ghost Riders in the Sky, Bonanza etc will put everyone in the right cowboy mood.
It's pretty easy for young cowboys and cowgirls to become a little hyperactive at a cowboy party.. so it's a good idea to have a few movies among your western party supplies. If things do happen to get just a bit too wild, you can make sure the guests can go to the den and watch cowboy movies. This will fit in quite well with the whole theme of the western party, and will allow them a chance to calm down a little while you can gather your nerves!
Some Western Party Supplies Props To Get Into The Mood
A few bales of hay scattered around the party area are ideal for seating. You can usually find these at your local nursery.
Cowboy hats are an absolute must and any additional riding gear like saddles, stirrups, horseshoes and the like help to add atmosphere.
A great activity is to have the children make 'Wanted' posters of themselves like you see in the old western movies.
'Birthday In A Box' has a template available for these Wanted Posters… you can download and print them … take some digital photos of the guests and the children can use these to complete their poster.
After everyone is done, they can hang the wanted posters around the party area.
Red bandanas are another essential piece of cowboy garb and are inexpensive to make or buy.
Western Party Supplies Chowdown
Most cowboys and cowgirls are pretty happy with hotdogs or pizza which are just about the easiest preparation you can think of.
However, if you want to add some more flavor to the party, why not try:
Setting up a stage coach or maybe hire a hay wagon to serve the food and drinks from.
Get some horseshoe shaped croisants or maybe make Make horseshoe biscuits: Form biscuit dough into the shape of a horseshoe and bake as directed.
Make S'mores, or supervise your guests as they make their own over a fire or grill. First, toast the marshmallows until golden. Then, place the marshmallow and a bar of chocolate between two graham crackers, and press the graham crackers together.
In addition to other drinks (e.g. water, milk, juice, various sodas, etc.), serve root beer in bottles or canteens to your little cowboys and cowgirls.
